Mission Statement
THE Mission
The mission is to put out a great quality comic book to the best of my ability 100% done by me. Also to put the stigma surrounding marijuana to rest. Within the story MotaMan uses vapes to temporarily help him with a "vapability". He will go up against the real evils of this world and highlight the contrast of what we consider to be bad, for example a person who recreationally uses marijuana and the real evils of this world. Aside from just entertainment each issue has some martial arts moves that can be studied. Each issue will showcase more of these moves and further information related to beginning a journey into the world of martial arts will be made available. Other than that enjoy the comic relief MotaMan offers and learn a few recipes along the way.
Long Term Goal: One day I hope to be able to use profits made from the comicbook to lobby for the legalization of marijuana. And also want to have a portion of each purchase go towards conservation of wild life and rainforest.

100% Indie Comic
Everything from concept, design, pencil, to digital coloring is done solely by David Chavez. This was a project that meant a lot to me and was important for me to make the first issue exactly how I envision it without any ideas being lost in translation.
Behind The Scenes
This was the first time using a tablet to digitally color my art. It was a slow start. But the knowledge and skill gained is priceless.

Martial Arts Featured in The Comics
In every issue there will be techniques referenced or drawn. At the end of each issue I will provide a QR code that can be scanned and I will demonstrate the techniques. The art I have trained in since 2009 is Ed Parker Kenpo Karate. I have also trained in kickboxing and jiu jitsu, all of which will be included in the following issues for you to learn about various ways to defend yourself.
